NASA is sending a two punch space craft to the moon to bombard the South Pole. This ship the Centaur and a Shepherding Ship will deliver the blow in February. Said to be a cost effective, low risk way to find out if there is hidden water ice under the unique craters on the South Pole. First Centaur, with all of its sensing devices will be thrust into the moon by the Shepherding Ship and then when the dust settles the Shepherd will send itself and its equipment in a kamikaze dive to see if there is water. Then some American corporation will bottle the water and sell it for millions as lunar lusciousness (just kidding)...
A triple asteroid rarely found in the solar system has been discovered 7 million miles from earth. The anomolie named SN263. The triplets aren't identical and are attached by their gravities. The main space rock is 1.5 miles wide, the second is about half that size and the smallest is about 1000 feet across. Fortunately, the threesome are not on a collision course toward earth. If you have any good name for the triple asteroid let me know, the only thing I have come up with is, Medusa...
It is baffling astronomers and scientists around the world. Four spacecrafts that recently did a fly- bye and displayed unexpected anomalies in their motions and trajectories. This is called the Pioneer Anomaly because the last time scientists measured this type of information was when Pioneer 10 and 11 passed earth and it was determined that the spacecrafts were accelerating towards the sun. Scientists can't explain the slight change or where the spacecrafts are heading. The scientific head scratching has become fierce...
Jules Verne the European's newest addition to the International Space Station will take off next Sunday. The fully automated, unmanned 21 ton robot vessel will carry 10 tons of experimental equipment, fuel, water, food and other supplies. The Automatic Transfer Vehicle or ATV will dock with the space station in early April. It will be the key player providing equipment and supplies and serving as a propulsion device for the space station for years to come. If Jules Verne were alive it would make him proud...
